Arika Ontiveros
Born in Palmdale California, Coach Ontiveros invested over 20 years to the sport of soccer. Graduating from college in the summer of 2015 from California Polytechnic University Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, as a scholarship student-athlete, Coach Ontiveros played three years with the Division II Broncos women’s soccer team after transferring from California State University Northridge having played two years for the Division 1 Matadors women’s soccer team. While playing for the Broncos, she enjoyed the opportunity to help her team get into two CCAA tournament playoff appearances in 2012 and 2015 and two NCAA tournament appearances in 2012 and in 2015, making it to the sweet sixteen quarterfinal rounds playing for the West Regional Title. In the summer of 2014, Coach Ontiveros played in the (W-League) for the Semi Pro team Santa Clarita Blue Heat. Also, she trained with the Legends semi pro team during the spring of 2014 and finished off in the Spring of 2015 playing in several games for semi pro team Beach FC in the WPSL league. Moreover, having started coaching for Cal Elite in 2010, as well as assisting at the college level for the California State University Dominguez Hills Women’s Soccer Team in 2015, Coach Ontiveros has proven successful at various levels of the game. Coach Ontiveros states “There is nothing else that I find more joy and happiness in then developing kids/players in becoming the player they know they can be and want to be! Being a coach keeps me to the closest and most important thing that I love and that is playing soccer. Coaching for Cal Elite has allowed me to grow as a person and as a coach and everyday. I’m either improving my game as a soccer player or improving my skills and knowledge as a coach. I know I can say that I am learning from the best here at CAL ELITE! Coach Ontiveros experience and accomplishments, combined with her passion for developing players, helps to make Coach Ontiveros a great asset to California Elite Soccer Club.
